No winner in fire department’s 50/50 draw
Sympathy goes out to wife and all family members on the passing of Ron Webb, Little River, on July 23; the same to all family members of Gordon Stevens, Williamsdale, who passed away on July 27. Thinking of you all at these sad times.
Mike Purdy and his companion, Donna Perkins, who had been visiting in Summerside, P.E.I., stopped in, on their way back to Ottawa for a surprise visit with Bill Atkinson and Carl Purdy.

Meggin King, Dave Farley, Beryl MacLean, and Barb Langill, Pugwash; Bill Toth, Masstown; and Carol Gallant, Amherst. Wedding anniversary greetings go out to Don and Betty Casey, Amherst; Dwayne and Deliah Smith, Rockley; and Kevin and Dana LeBlanc, Hubbards.
There was no winner at the firemen’s weekly 50/50 draw on Wednesday, nor at the Co-Op’s weekly draw on Sunday.
Callers with Mary Doyle on Friday were nieces Lily DeYoung, Linacy, her daughter Beth and little girl, Lily, Calgary; Jean Robertson, Barneys River, and her daughter Emily, Antigonish. They enjoyed lunch at Sheryl’s Bakery.
Other callers this week were Lynn McKellar, North Wallace, and Peggy Allen, Pugwash.
Peggy drove Mary for a dental appointment in Pugwash on Monday.
Peggy’s great-granddaughter, Lillix, spent last week at Camp Pagweak. She had a great time and the big thrill was on Thursday night when they all got to spend the night there.

I understand the yard sale at Wesley-St. Matthew’s United Church on July 22 was a huge success.
Rev. Meggin King visited with Shirley White one day this week. Faye Moore, Conns Mills, and Shirley were shopping in Amherst recently and enjoyed lunch together.
On Saturday Ronalda and Barry Smith, along with Shirley travelled to Saint John to attend Kelsey’s fourth birthday party. Aidan returned back with them for a visit.
Lots of callers this week. Terry Smith had lunch with me on Monday; Denise Darragh and Bruce Gullens had supper on Tuesday; and Grant and Janet had lunch with me on Friday. Others include Cheryl Myers, Londonderry; Janet Gullens, Gulf Shore; Kate Wilson, Wallace; Ron Trenholm, Rockley; Lynn McKellar, N. Wallace; Lillix Polley, Dartmouth; Roberta Angevine, Peggy Allen, Judy Allen, Carl Purdy, and last but not least, my good friend and neighbour, 94-year-old Rollie Lockhart, who walked up on Sunday evening for a visit.
