Free summer swims popular
YMCA offering free swims Monday to Friday, each swim seeing about 50 to 60 attendees
The free weekly swims are going well this summer at the Cumberland YMCA.
Throughout the summer, swims sponsored by the town of Amherst, the Full of Life program (YMCA) and the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program are hosted by the YMCA.
These public swims are offered throughout July and August and most are open to all ages.
There is a free swim each day from Monday to Friday. The swims are as follows:
Town of Amherst recreational swim 3 to 4 p.m.
Q3 to 4 p.m.
Town of Amherst recreational swim 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart swim 3 to 4 p.m. (ages four to 18)

Registration should be made at the front desk before swimming. Children six years or younger should be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the pool.
Those interested in attending the swims should check ymcaofcumberland. com for any changes or pool closures. The pool will be closed the last week of August for cleaning.
