Lions ad­vance to lit­tle league championship se­ries

Mix­ers force de­cid­ing game against Cubs

The Lions have ad­vanced to the Amherst Lit­tle League championship se­ries af­ter a 2-1 win over the Y’s Guys on Mon­day.

Nolan McNally and Reece Mac­Don­ald shared the pitch­ing win for the Lions giv­ing up three hits, 12 walks and strik­ing out 15. Ash­ton VanSnick and Bray­den Stevens pitched for the Y’s Guys. They gave up six hits, walked five and struck out seven.

Reece Mac­Don­ald sin­gled and tripled for the Lions with Nolan McNally, Ben Mac­Don­ald, Nate Camp­bell and Brady Gill each hit­ting sin­gles.

Bray­den Stevens home­red and sin­gled for the Y’s Guys with Ry­der Codling adding a sin­gle.

In the other game, the Mix­ers forced a third and de­cid­ing game in their best-of-three se­ries with a 13-5 win over the Carter’s Crest­ing Cubs.

Burke Beed pitched the Mix­ers to the win giv­ing up seven hits, walk­ing five and strik­ing out 12. Kieran Sears, Phoenix Rem­ing­ton and Thane McAloney all pitched for the Cubs. They gave up nine hits, walked nine and struck out nine.

Man­del Nick­er­son hit two dou­bles and sin­gled for the Mix­ers while Turkey Porter dou­bled. Hay­den Crocket and Nate Arse­neau sin­gled twice each while Jesse Stevens sin­gled once.

Thane McAloney hit three sin­gles for the Cubs with Phoenix Rem­ing­ton hit­ting a sin­gle and a dou­ble. Sawyer Har­vey hit a sin­gle as did Kolby Mills.

The third game in the Cub­sMix­ers se­ries is set for Wed­nes­day at 6 p.m.
