Goldie Mar­garet Thomp­son

It is with heavy hearts that the fam­ily of Goldie Mar­garet Thomp­son an­nounce her pass­ing on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at Gables Lodge with her lov­ing fam­ily by her side.

Born in Amherst on Au­gust 30, 1928, she was the daugh­ter of the late Alan and El­iza (Gaudet) Tat­trie.

She en­joyed crafts, bowl­ing and loved to have peo­ple drop in for a cup of tea. She was a mem­ber of the Pythian Sis­ters for many years.

Goldie will be lov­ingly re­mem­bered & sadly missed by all that knew her.

She is sur­vived by daugh­ters: Diane (Archie) McFadyen, Char­lot­te­town, Judy (Eric) Black, Amherst, Thelma (John) An­der­son, Hal­i­fax, Linda (Jim) Long, Amherst. Sons: Doug, Amherst and Kenny, Ottawa; 8 grand­chil­dren & 10 great grand­chil­dren. Sis­ters: Rita Kent, Alice Simp­son & Fran Perry all of Oshawa and Au­drey Reid, Amherst. Brother: Doug, On­tario.

Be­sides her par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Doug; brother Alan (Ju­nior) of Bri­tish Columbia.

Goldie’s fam­ily would like to send a sin­cere thank you to the staff of Gables Lodge for their lov­ing, car­ing and com­pas­sion­ate care. There truly are “an­gels” on earth.

A cel­e­bra­tion of Goldie’s life was held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm held in Camp­bell’s Fu­neral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.

In­ter­ment will be held in the Amherst Ceme­tery at a later date.

Do­na­tions in her mem­ory may be made to the First Bap­tist Church, Sal­va­tion Army or charity of your choice.
