“We actually met when we were 16 and have always been really close friends. But I think we’ve always had an eye on each other,” says Laura Joukhadar of her now husband, Joey. After a total surprise proposal—where Joey popped the question in French (she’s a French teacher) and escorted Laura, via limo, to a party with all her loved ones—it’s no surprise the wedding was a high-fashion fairytale. Inspired by a recent trip to Europe and a keen eye for the runway, Laura enlisted Golden Dog Productions to help create a look that Dolce and Gabbana would approve of. “I wanted the theme cohesive and Teresita nailed it. I just wanted it to be unique to us,” says Laura. “I wanted you to look at it and say that’s so Laura and Joey.” Blue Italian tiling, royal reds and golds, a vintageinspired photo booth, a 360° projection of the Palace of Versailles and a runway that led guests to the dance floor worked together to create a unique, magical, larger than life atmosphere—but it’s the little moments that Laura remembers the most. “When I was walking down the aisle, my dad was making sure we walked nice and slow to keep me calm— and I couldn’t stop laughing,” she says. “I was just giggling the whole time looking at Joey. And he was blushing.”
