The city’s dessert game has just got­ten an­other boost thanks to ZenQ Halifax. The in­ter­na­tional chain’s first lo­ca­tion east of On­tario made its de­but just in time for 2018, open­ing at 1065 Bar­ring­ton Street in late De­cem­ber and serv­ing up a big menu of Tai­wanese drinks (like many milk tea op­tions) and sweets. We can thank Jason Wang for the grass jelly, tofu pud­ding, creamy frappes and sago on of­fer, the pair moved to town four years ago and de­cided to go into busi­ness to­gether in the name of fill­ing a void. When Halifax couldn’t bring them Tai­wanese desserts, they brought them to Halifax in­stead.
