Just over a year after the death of Steve Armbruster, the nature-loving founder of Halifax cafe royalty Steve-O-Reno’s Cappucino (1536 Brunswick Street), comes Gone Surfin’, a special roasted ode to the man himself. Steve-O’s announced its release this week, sharing that the North Mountain Fine Coffee medium blend “is about savouring those magical moments that bring you joy.” For

Armbruster—who passed away in January 2017—that joy came in the form of the early mornings on ocean. “This coffee is an ode to Steve’s adventurous, mischievous spirit and the big life that he lived. It’s a reminder to take a minute to stop and smell that salty sea air, to make time to really enjoy your morning coffee, and most importantly–to not take yourself too seriously,” writes Steve-O’s of the roast. Buy these beans at the Brunswick Street and Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market (1209 Marginal Road) locations of the cafe, and raise a mug to adventure.
