Pee Wee A Rovers win gold
The Pee Wee A Rovers went undefeated to win gold in invitational tournaments March 7 and 15.
In the earlier tournament Rovers defeated CRB in Whitbourne by a score of 2 - 1. The team won another gold in Marystown by defeating Clarenville 3 - 2.
Manager Glen Deering said, “All the invitational tournaments for this season have come to an end - our team had such a great year.”
The team has attended seven tournaments this year, taking home five gold medals and one silver.
“We have had a lot of tough battles this year but team members always kept their heads up and played their best,” said Deering.
“The one thing all kids wait for is the All Newfoundland and Labrador Tournament,” he added. “It will be a tough but good tournament.”
The Rovers will travel to Gander April 13-15th to represent the Bay Arena Pee Wee A team and face Gander, Clarenville, Goulds, Labrador West and Mount Pearl.
The manager encourages supporters to “ Come out to Gander and cheer them on. Best of luck to the team with their All Newfoundland and Labrador tournaments,” he said.
