Pee Wee A Rovers win gold

The Pee Wee A Rovers went un­de­feated to win gold in in­vi­ta­tional tour­na­ments March 7 and 15.

In the ear­lier tour­na­ment Rovers de­feated CRB in Whit­bourne by a score of 2 - 1. The team won an­other gold in Marys­town by de­feat­ing Clarenville 3 - 2.

Man­ager Glen Deer­ing said, “All the in­vi­ta­tional tour­na­ments for this sea­son have come to an end - our team had such a great year.”

The team has at­tended seven tour­na­ments this year, tak­ing home five gold medals and one sil­ver.

“We have had a lot of tough bat­tles this year but team mem­bers al­ways kept their heads up and played their best,” said Deer­ing.

“The one thing all kids wait for is the All New­found­land and Labrador Tour­na­ment,” he added. “It will be a tough but good tour­na­ment.”

The Rovers will travel to Gan­der April 13-15th to rep­re­sent the Bay Arena Pee Wee A team and face Gan­der, Clarenville, Goulds, Labrador West and Mount Pearl.

The man­ager en­cour­ages sup­port­ers to “ Come out to Gan­der and cheer them on. Best of luck to the team with their All New­found­land and Labrador tour­na­ments,” he said.
