IPARTS Advance Auto Care Limited has had steady growth right from the start. They take great pride in providing a fully stocked parts department and are determined to make sure parts for your domestic or import vehicle are on hand.
“Most of the time when we service a vehicle we have the parts right here,” Green says. “ That’s the difference from our service and that of the smaller garage.”
Rather than having their customers waiting for parts on order, Advance Auto’s fully stocked parts department ensures appointments are on time.
“If we have to wait a half hour for a delivery – that hour job becomes a hour and a half job,” the owner acknowledges. “The key is having on hand what we need for the job.”
Advance Auto Care Limited stocks a large inventory of auto supplies for both the retail and commercial customer. They also offer delivery to commercial accounts.
“That’s what makes our garage very competitive and our parts counter t’s been 20 years since Advance Auto Care Ltd. welcomed its first customer. Since 1989 the auto care centre has kept in tune with the best in car care, maintaining a fully stocked parts store and a five bay service centre.
But their philosophy is still the same: great service makes great business.
And that’s how Dan Green, Advance Auto Care Limited president and owner modestly accounts for his business’s growth over the past two decades.
“I’m a firm believer that if you have an appointment for 10 o’clock, people like to get in at 10 o’clock – not 10:30,” he says.
The company’s president says he would never let anyone go home complaining “they were at the garage for two hours just to get a set of tires installed.”
Many times it’s the little things that make the big difference, and that’s what counts for Advance Auto’s customers.
“It’s good to know when your car is in for a repair and a technician detects another potential problem, the customer is notified and advised of the matter,” Green says.
With that kind of trustworthy service, customers can relax and feel confident knowing their vehicle is safe and well maintained. CELEBRATING 20 – Advance Auto Care, Powell Drive, Carbonear is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The five-bay service centre also has a fully stocked parts department including parts for foreign vehicles. major supplier at the same rate as any national competitor across Canada.
“ This works both ways,” explains Green, “ buying direct keeps the cost down for the customer. The other advantage is availability.
“If a car owner is taking a day off work, they don’t want to be at the garage for the whole day for car repairs. There are other things they want to do.”
IMPORTS AND DOMESTIC Imported vehicles are as common on our highways as domestic cars and trucks.
And Green says, “the most replaced parts such as shocks, brakes and front-end components are just as available for foreign cars at Advance Auto as they are for Ford, Chev or Dodge.
“A lot of people are under the misconception that you have to drive to St. John’s to a dealer to get a part for an import. But that’s not the case anymore. Our goal is to have that part for your vehicle today.”
OTHER SERVICES Availability of parts is important – but so are other areas of the business.
Advance Auto Care Limited is a certified dealer for Hercules tires. As many as 750 tires are in stock at peak periods.
“If we don’t have the tire you need, we have access to it overnight,” says Green.
When you get those new tires installed it’s always smart to have the four wheels aligned to prevent unnecessary wear. And Green says the computerized wheel alignment machine is one of the best things he’s done to improve service to customers.
Advance Auto Care Limited has also grown to include radiator repair and exhaust and muffler replacement.
“We can supply new radiators, heater cores and gas tanks, as well as most exhaust needs,” the owner says.
Along with the hardware, Advance Auto Care has the software as well. With the scan tool, technicians find electronic and electrical trouble quickly.
