Grue­some find in New Har­bour-Dildo area

The RCMP in Whit­bourne are ac­tively in­ves­ti­gat­ing an an­i­mal cru­elty com­plaint stem­ming from a grue­some find near the New Har­bour/Dildo area.

Sgt. Boyd Mer­rill said last week,“the re­mains of a yel­low Labrador mixed breed was found over the past cou­ple of days drowned near a pond with an undis­closed weighted ob­ject tied to its col­lar.” The ob­ject, which in­cluded a spring, was dis­cov­ered to be part of the sus­pen­sion of a ve­hi­cle, com­monly known as a strut.

CRUEL ACT - Last week po­lice re­leased th­ese pho­tos of the weight used to an­chor a dog to the bot­tom of Dildo Pond. The weight ap­pears to be a sus­pen­sion part (com­monly known as a strut) from a ve­hi­cle. The dog was dis­cov­ered un­der­wa­ter, the strut tied to its col­lar.
