Crocker is currently in his 21st year of service, but because he was out of the province working when the awards were handed out, he choose the May meeting to receive the medals.

In recognition of 20 years of service he was presented the Federal Medal for Exemplary Service in Firefighting; the Maltese Cross, and accompanying certificate; the Provincial Long Service Medal, and accompanying certificate and 20 Years of Service pin from the Brigade.

Chief Sonia Williams explained, “Once 20 years of service has been reached, it is at the firefighter’s discretion when he receives his 20-years-of-service awards, and it is from here that a firefighter in the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade can retire and move up to Lifetime Membership within the Brigade.”
