Town to take over recre­ation

At the May 5 reg­u­lar meet­ing of Bri­gus Town Coun­cil, the town de­cided to take over the ad­min­is­tra­tion of its Recre­ation Com­mis­sion.

Coun­cil­lor Ralph Trick­ett will act as chair of the Bri­gus Sports and Recre­ation Com­mis­sion.


The town will con­tact the Depart­ment of Gov­ern­ment Ser­vices re­gard­ing what ap­pears to be a com­plaint from res­i­dents about noise and camper vans.

Re­turn­ing of­fi­cer

Coun­cil ap­pointed Ann Whalen as al­ter­nate re­turn­ing of­fi­cer for the Septem­ber mu­nic­i­pal elec­tion.

Mayor’s re­port

Mayor By­ron Rod­way re­ported he at­tended the an­nual in­spec­tion of the Bri­gus Sea Cadets at North River in April and the Bat­tle of the At­lantic held in Bri­gus May 3.


Mayor By­ron Rod­way and Coun­cil­lors Ger­ald Mercer, Ralph Trick­ett, Paul Mar­shall and Al­bert Sparkes at­tended the meet­ing. Deputy Mayor Ed Roberts and Coun. Ken Skanes were ab­sent.
