Cen­tre for Youth opens for sum­mer


The sum­mer is fast ap­proach­ing, which means there are hun­dreds of youth search­ing for sum­mer em­ploy­ment in the Trin­ity-Con­cep­tion Bay Area.

Hir­ing a youth for tem­po­rary em­ploy­ment in the sum­mer of­fers many ben­e­fits for both young peo­ple and em­ploy­ers. A youth worker can be per­fect for the busy sum­mer months.

Hir­ing a youth worker yields many ben­e­fits to an em­ployer, such as flex­i­ble work­ing hours, tech­no­log­i­cal and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, the com­ple­tion of odd jobs and the de­sire and will­ing­ness to learn!

At the re­cent of­fi­cial open­ing of the Ser­vice Canada Cen­tre for Youth in Har­bour Grace, rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the lo­cal com­mu­nity, politi­cians, and em­ploy­ers ex­pressed their grat­i­tude to­ward youth in the area.

Dur­ing the open­ing youth were en­cour­aged to visit our cen­tre to browse the var­i­ous ser­vices we of­fer. At the Ser­vice Canada Cen­tre for Youth, young peo­ple can up­date ré­sumés and cover let­ters, ob­tain in­for­ma­tion about Gov­ern­ment of Canada ser­vices and pro­grams and ex­plore var­i­ous ca­reer op­tions. All this is avail­able free of charge, along with our Job Board which ad­ver­tises sum­mer po­si­tions.

Like­wise, em­ploy­ers can ob­tain in­for­ma­tion about Gov­ern­ment of Canada ser­vices and pro­grams, lo­cal labour mar­ket in­for­ma­tion and labour stan­dards. Em­ploy­ers can ad­ver­tise their var­i­ous po­si­tions through the cen­tre in search for sum­mer aid or re­lief.
