Centre for Youth opens for summer
The summer is fast approaching, which means there are hundreds of youth searching for summer employment in the Trinity-Conception Bay Area.
Hiring a youth for temporary employment in the summer offers many benefits for both young people and employers. A youth worker can be perfect for the busy summer months.
Hiring a youth worker yields many benefits to an employer, such as flexible working hours, technological and communication skills, the completion of odd jobs and the desire and willingness to learn!
At the recent official opening of the Service Canada Centre for Youth in Harbour Grace, representatives from the local community, politicians, and employers expressed their gratitude toward youth in the area.
During the opening youth were encouraged to visit our centre to browse the various services we offer. At the Service Canada Centre for Youth, young people can update résumés and cover letters, obtain information about Government of Canada services and programs and explore various career options. All this is available free of charge, along with our Job Board which advertises summer positions.
Likewise, employers can obtain information about Government of Canada services and programs, local labour market information and labour standards. Employers can advertise their various positions through the centre in search for summer aid or relief.
