Left with fond and loving mem­o­ries are hus­band: William (Bill); daugh­ter: Dar­lene (Tom); son: William (Tracy); grand­chil­dren: Amelia (Chris), Alex and a blessed grand­child due in Novem­ber; great-grand­son: Aaron and a large and loving fam­ily that in­cluded 3 sis­ters Alice (Gor­don) ,Jackie (Ed­ward), Doris (Gil­bert) and 2 broth­ers: Billy (Trina) and Al­bert (Bessie), 3 sis­ter-in-laws: An­nie (Greg), Ros­alind (Den­nis), Jessie (Pa­trick) and 4 brother-in-laws: Ernest (Phyl­lis), Wil­fred (Doreen), Howard (Su­san) ,and Gor­don (Dale) and a larger cir­cle of fam­ily and friends. Rev. Howard Crane and Rev. Bill Strong con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice at St. Mark’s Church, Shearstown on Tues­day Oc­to­ber 6,2009. In­ter­ment was held at the St. Mark’s Church ceme­tery, Shearstown. Pall­bear­ers were Gil­bert Phillips, Ray­mond Phillips, Wil­fred But­ler, Gor­don But­ler, Ed­ward Snow, and Harry Richards

GOSSE, Vic­tor R.R. - Passed peace­fully away at the Carbonear Gen­eral Hospi­tal on Septem­ber 29, 2009, Vic­tor R.R. Gosse of Spa­niard’s Bay, aged 69 years. Left with fond and loving mem­o­ries his broth­ers: Fen (Ethel) and Dave (Mar­ian) all of Spa­niard’s Bay; sis­ter-in -law: Janet Gosse, Spa­niard’s Bay; 3 nieces: Jackie, Tammy and Nancy; 2 neph­ews: Blaine and Del and a large cir­cle of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rest­ing at Young’s Fu­neral Home, Spa­niard’s Bay. The fu­neral ser­vice took place on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 3 at Holy Redeemer Angli­can Church fol­lowed with in­ter­ment at Maul Tree Hill Angli­can Ceme­tery, Spa­niard’s Bay. Pre­de­ceased by wife: Edith (1992), son: Clif­ford and baby Jones. Left with fond and loving mem­o­ries his com­pan­ion Sylvia James; sons: Charles (Pauline), Carl (Chrissy) and Jef­fery (Alv­ina), all of Up­per Is­land Cove; daugh­ters: Alice (Don Mahon), Up­per Is­land Cove and Bar­bara (Barry Eng­land), Bri­gus; broth­ers: Melvin (Jean), Bryant’s Cove, Les (Dianne), Bishop’s Cove and Calvin (Betty), Dunville; 14 grand­chil­dren, 7 great-grand­chil­dren and a large cir­cle of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rest­ing at Hussey’s Fu­neral Home, Up­per Is­land Cove. Pre­de­ceased by her par­ents: Thomas and Sarah Shep­pard; hus­band Archibald; sis­ters: Pearl, Betty and Sadie; brother: Ebenezer. Leav­ing to mourn her 3 sons: John (Greta), Arch (Janet), and Bruce (Dianne); sis­ter: Mary; brother: Tom; 8 grand­chil­dren: Stephen, An­drew, An­drea, Trevor, Travis, Su­san, Phillip and Ni­colle; 7 great-grand­chil­dren: Travis Joe, Jar­rett, Tan­ner, Han­nah, Chad, Re­becca and Noah and a large cir­cle of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rev­erend Lor­raine Jarvis con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice at Cen­tral United Church, Bay Roberts on Tues­day, Septem­ber 22, 2009. In­ter­ment was at Cen­tral United Church Ceme­tery, Bay Roberts. Pall­bear­ers were Su­san Kear­ley, Stephen Kear­ley, Arch Kear­ley Jr. Phillip Kear­ley, John Kear­ley and Bruce Kear­ley. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to the care of Moore’s Fu­neral Home, Clarke’s Beach.

O’DON­NELL, Maud Emily - March.24, 1924-Oc­to­ber. 3, 2009 It is with heart­felt sad­ness that we an­nounce the death of Maud O’Don­nell, at the age 85 years on Satur­day Oc­to­ber.3rd at Black­pool Vic­to­ria Hospi­tal, Eng­land.

She leaves to mourn her chil­dren John O’Don­nell of Eng­land, Pa­tri­cia Martin (Mac) of Har­bour Grace, New­found­land and Labrador and her grand­chil­dren An­drew O’Don­nell (Woog-yung), Sally Eller­shaw (Steven), Kerry Martin Pike and Melissa Col­bourne (Brian). We are blessed and re­lieved that her great grand­chil­dren spent some valu­able time with her both at home in the UK and here in Canada. Great Grand­chil­dren in­clude: Sa­muel and Thomas Eller­shaw of Eng­land and Anna Pike and Ava Col­bourne of New­found­land and Labrador.

Also leav­ing to mourn are her sis­ters Re­nee Bar­row and Ellen Pat­ti­son and brother Alf Normington and fam­i­lies of Eng­land.

Fam­ily near and far will gather for her fu­neral, which will be held in Lytham, St. Anne’s, Eng­land on Oc­to­ber 14th, 2009

Maud will be missed by her wide cir­cle of neigh­bors, friends and fam­ily. We are left with light hearted mem­o­ries and laugh­ter as Maud had a very dry sense of hu­mor and a lust for liv­ing in the mo­ment. Her for­ti­tude for life was in­spi­ra­tional.
