re­sponded to 114 com­plaints and calls for ser­vice from the cit­i­zens in our district be­tween Oct. 8 and 14.

Rou­tine everyday traf­fic en­force­ment du­ties are not in­cluded in that to­tal.

The fol­low­ing is a snap­shot of sev­eral in­ves­ti­ga­tions over the last week, which high­lights the na­ture of some calls re­ceived and iden­ti­fies in­ci­dents the pub­lic can pos­si­bly help with by pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion.

Oc­to­ber 10 - RCMP re­ceived a re­port of prop­erty dam­age to a res­i­dence in Har­bour Grace. Cop­per wire was also re­ported stolen from a res­i­dence next door to the same prop­erty.

Oc­to­ber 11 - Re­port of mis­chief were re­ceived from Vic­to­ria. Youth in that town were re­ported to be bang­ing on win­dows and doors of homes and run­ning away.

Many res­i­dents are an­noyed by th­ese in­ci­dents, and some are un­easy and fear­ful when they oc­cur.

Oc­to­ber 12 - Dur­ing a pa­trol of the Har­bour Grace area, RCMP ob­served a male at a res­i­dence that was known to the po­lice. The 19 year old Har­bour Grace man had re­cently been re­leased from court on con­di­tions to have no con­tact with a fe­male from that town. When the of­fi­cers ob­served the man, he was at the res­i­dence of the fe­male he had been or­dered by the court to have no con­tact with. He was ar­rested and court is set for Oct. 13.

RCMP re­ceived a re­port of prop­erty dam­age to a shed in Vic- to­ria. A re­port was made to po­lice that a small group of kids were ob­served start­ing a fire by the shed.

Up­com­ing events

A pro­gram for par­ents, care givers and all in­ter­ested adults on drug use among teens in our com­mu­nity will take place at the Search and Res­cue Build­ing in Bay Roberts next Tues­day, Oct. 27.

The pro­gram is called Kids and Drugs. There is a great deal of in­for­ma­tion with this pro­gram, and it is an op­por­tu­nity for you to: • Gather new in­for­ma­tion • Learn new com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills

• Col­lect the real facts about drug use in New­found­land and Labrador

• Find out what the RCMP is do­ing to de­crease the amount of drugs in our com­mu­ni­ties and how they are in­form­ing and pre­par­ing youth.

Most of all there will be ques­tion and an­swer ses­sion, where you can share your thoughts and an­swer those nag­ging ques­tions we all have. In or­der to at­tend this pro­gram please reg­is­ter by Oct. 20.
