First Santa letters arrive

The Compass - - FRONT PAGE -

Before the end of October parents were already calling The Compass asking about letters to Santa. “ When are you starting to print them? When is your deadline, etc?

Every year we start running letters to Santa as soon as we receive them.

Drake Rose was the first child to have his letter in this year. The four-year-old Salmon Cove boy dropped his letter off at our office last Tuesday, Nov. 3. It appears on Page B7 of this week’s Compass.

Last year The Compass published over 600 letters to Santa. Because we expect the volume of letters to Santa to match or exceed last year’s volume, we ask boys and girls to be like Drake and get your letters in early.

Letters to Santa will appear in our issues of Nov. 17 and 24 along with Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22, which will be our annual Christmas issue. Please understand, even if your letter is in early, we cannot guarantee which of these issues your letter will appear.

The fee for publishing letters is $ 4.50 ( with or without photo). Total cost, if you want letters laminated is $ 5.00.

As brief as possible

We ask boys and girls to keep their letters as brief as possible, and we reserve the right to edit/ shorten all letters for space.

Friday, Dec. 4 is the deadline for all letters. No letters will be accepted for publication after that date. Because of the expected volume, we will not be able to return photos this year.
