Vic­to­ria man ar­rested

Trin­ity Con­cep­tion District RCMP ar­rested a 22-year-old male res­i­dent of Vic­to­ria last Tues­day, Feb. 16 as part of their con­tin­u­ing crack­down on drug traf­fick­ing in the area.

Const. John Hedges, lead in­ves­ti­ga­tor with Trin­ity Con­cep­tion gen­eral in­ves­tiga­tive ser­vices, said po­lice seized a quan­tity of mar­i­juana, ec­stasy and other pre­scrip­tion drugs af­ter they stopped a ve­hi­cle in the Con­cep­tion Bay North town.

“ The male was later re­leased from cus­tody and will be fac­ing charges in­clud­ing pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing,” Hedges said. He will ap­pear in court in May.

Po­lice urge mem­bers of the pub­lic to con­tact Crimestop­pers or call the lo­cal RCMP de­tach­ments with any in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ties in their com­mu­ni­ties.
