Proud to be a Newfie

The Compass - - OPINION -

Dear editor,

I am a Newfie and proud of it. I am proud to say I am a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I have travelled all over the United States and Canada and have encountered nothing but respect from other Canadians and Americans alike. Folks who have visited our province loved being here; those who have not visited want to visit.

Other Canadians have a deep respect for fellow Canadians from our province. Many have worked with our people, and they say what good workers we are and how innovative we are. For the past few years many are full of compliments for our Premier Williams and our fine government. They are genuinely happy for us.

A few folks in the USA are not all that familiar with our province. After all we have a small population and the USA news does not have a lot of Canadian content. Most however, are well informed.

We are, for the most part, doing a good job promoting our province. We hope that the folks who are retired away come home in droves to this perfect place. Loretta Fitzgerald
