Old Mill Lanes host King of the Hill tour­ney

Elaine Wells and Lou Smith of Plaza Bowl, St. John’s emerged the winning team at the fourth roll-off of the King of the Hill Tour­na­ment held April 11 at Old Mill Lanes, in Bay Roberts.

The winning team re­ceived the top daily prize of $420.

Wells led her team­mate in the four-game roll-off with scores of 268, 202, 250 and 177 to bowl a com­bined hand­i­capped to­tal of 1952.

Wells and Smith are now de­fend­ing champs. If they win the next Roll off they will win the King pot of $1,750.

Sec­ond place went to Peggy Deer­ing and Melissa Gif­ford of Old Mill Lanes with a com­bined hand­i­cap score of 1920.

Les El­liott and Roger Cairns of Riverdale Lanes in Kel­li­grews fin­ished in third spot with a com­bined hand­i­cap score of 1920.

The next King of the Hill roll off is slated for Oc­to­ber at St. Pat’s Lanes in St. John’s.

Old Mill Lanes is one of the par­tic­i­pat­ing Su­per Bowl­ing cen­tres, along with Cari­bou Lanes, Plaza Bowl, Riverdale Lanes and St. Pat’s Lanes.
