Coun­cil will is­sue a de­mo­li­tion or­der to the owner of 3 Bev­er­ley Road to de­mol­ish the struc­ture on the prop­erty within 30 days of re­ceiv­ing the or­der.

Pub­lic works

Coun­cil will in­stall ap­prox­i­mately 20 me­tres of curb along the east side of For­est Road where it in­ter­sects with the sec­ond sec­tion of For­est Road and in­stall a STOP sign at that lo­ca­tion. The project was rec­om­mended by the Pub­lic Works, Recre­ation and Spe­cial Events Com­mit­tee

De­vel­op­ment

The De­vel­op­ment, Cul­tural and Tourism Ini­tia­tives Com­mit­tee pre­sented mo­tions, which were passed by coun­cil.

The town ap­proved a per­mit for an ex­ten­sion to the ac­ces­sory build­ing at 4 Pike’s Lane as per the ap­pli­ca­tion and plans sub­mit­ted with an amend­ment to the min­i­mum rear­yard to five me­tres. The per­mit is sub­ject to re­quired ap­provals from the Depart­ment of Gov­ern­ment Ser­vices and Lands and/or other gov­ern­ment agen­cies and de­part­ments. It is also sub­ject to the re­quire­ments of the Carbonear Mu­nic­i­pal Plan and De­vel­op­ment Reg­u­la­tions.

Coun­cil ap­proved a per­mit to con­struct an ex­ten­sion to the sin­gle dwelling at 8 Mar­shall Drive as per the ap­pli­ca­tion sub­mit­ted. The ap­proval is sub­ject to re­ceiv­ing no ob­jec­tions to the vari­ance ad pub­lished to vary the rear yard re­quire- ment from nine me­tres to 8.1 me­tres on the ap­pli­ca­tion and in ac­cor­dance with the Carbonear Mu­nic­i­pal Plan and De­vel­op­ment Reg­u­la­tions.

Bills paid

The town ap­proved for pay­ment a list of op­er­at­ing in­voices to­talling $65,893.32 as pre­sented to coun­cil by the Fi­nance, Ad­min­is­tra­tion and Hu­man Re­sources Com­mit­tee.
