SMITH: Laura J. - Passed sud­denly away at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Mon­day June 28, 2010, Mrs. Laura J. Smith of Tilton, NL, in her 86th year. She is pre-de­ceased by her hus­band Moses, par­ents Joseph and Al­freda Roberts, daugh­ter Eve­lyn Shep­pard, brother Gor­don, sis­ters Eve­lyn Drover, Hazel Verge. Left to mourn with fond and lov­ing mem­o­ries are her daugh­ter Geral­dine (Harry Richards) of Tilton, sons Free­man ( Eileen) of Vic­to­ria, Gor­don ( Sharon) of Cam­bridge Ont., Terry (Mar­jorie) of Clarke’s Beach, Wal­lace of Wood­stock Ont. Sis­ters Olive Shep­pard and Florence Pynn, 15 grand­chil­dren, 15 great-grand­chil­dren and 15 great-great-grand­chil­dren and a large cir­cle of relatives and friends. The fu­neral ser­vice took place from all Saints Angli­can Church in Tilton on Thurs­day July 1, 2010 fol­lowed by in­ter­ment at the Angli­can Ceme­tery, Tilton. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Young’s Fu­neral Home, Spa­niard’s Bay.

MOORES-Robert Emer­son-Passed peace­fully away at the Leonard Miller Cen­ter on Satur­day June 5, 2010, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily, aged 88 years, Robert Moores. Pre­de­ceased by his spouse Lucinda ( Strange­more) and his par­ents, Robert and Agnes Moores of Small Point. Leav­ing with fond and lov­ing mem­o­ries are his two sons, Bruce ( Judy) and Neil (Cather­ine); grand­chil­dren Kim, Greg and Mark; one brother, Her­bert ( Joyce); brother and sis­ter-in-laws: Jack Bat­stone, Mary Jane Burt, Jeremiah Strange­more ( Ethel), Job Strange­more ( El­iz­a­beth), Nor­man Strange­more (Myra), Clif­ford Strange­more (Dora), Vera Strange­more and Florence Strange­more (Paul). Also leav­ing to mourn spe­cial friend Eva and long­time friend and neigh­bor Irene Bursey.

POT­TLE, Al­bert L. ‘Les’-Passed peace­fully away at the Har­bour Lodge Nurs­ing Home, Car­bon­ear on Satur­day, June 26, 2010, Al­bert L. ìLesî Pot­tle of Salmon Cove, age 79 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Al­bert and Alice Pot­tle; sis­ters: Kath­leen, Flor­rie, Nina, Al­li­son and Ada; brother: Ken­neth. Left to mourn, wife: Vi­ola; two broth­ers: Oliver, New Hamp­shire and Reuben, St. John’s; two sis­ters: An­nie Wat­son, Toronto, ON and Lavinia Rees, St. John’s; also a large num­ber of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jesse Bown con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice on Tues­day, June 29 at the United Church, Fresh­wa­ter, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in the United Ceme­tery, Fresh­wa­ter, Car­bon­ear. FO­LEY, Peter Francis-orig­i­nally of Har­bour Grace, passed away on De­cem­ber 27, 2009. Peter’s im­me­di­ate fam­ily in­vites fam­ily and friends to join them in cel­e­bra­tion of his life on July 9, 2010 at 1:00 p. m. at Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Ro­man Catholic Church, Har­bour Grace.
