Shoplifter has taste for champagne
Trinity Conception District RCMP responded to 126 complaints and calls for service between June 23 and 29. Routine traffic enforcement duties are not included in that total. The following is a snapshot of investigations, which highlight the nature of some calls and identify incidents the public can possibly help with by providing information.
June 24 - A shoplifter at the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation store in Carbonear was reported to the RCMP. A woman was seen on video surveillance placing a bottle of champagne in her purse. The investigation is ongoing.
June 25 - A vehicle without insurance or registration was reported to the RCMP who located it in Carbonear. A 39-year-old Carbonear woman was issued two tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, for driving without a valid insurance policy and operating an unregistered vehicle.

June 26 - Property damage to vinyl siding on a residence in Harbour Grace was reported to the RCMP.
RCMP were on patrol in North River when they observed a vehicle that appeared to have a large number of people inside. Following an inquiry on the vehicle plate, the vehi- cle was pulled over. A 22-year-old Harbour Grace woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant from St. John’s and for driving while disqualified. RNC escorted the woman to St. John’s to attend court on the outstanding warrant.
June 27 - Three persons were arrested in connection with a break and enter on the Gut Bridge construction site on The Beach in Carbonear. A 16-year-old Broad Cove male; an 18 year old and a 16 year old both from Carbonear are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 29.
Property damage in and around the Paddy’s Garden area of Carbonear, where a party was held the night before was reported to the RCMP. There were reports of damage to vehicles, and residential property vandalism. A Valley Road resident had garden lights pulled out of the ground along a driveway. An investigation is ongoing.
June 28 - Damage to a shed on the government wharf in Old Perlican was reported to the RCMP.

Battle of the Brains
The Battle of the Brains was held on June 26th. This event was organized by the Bay Roberts Crime Prevention Committee and your District Community Policing Officer. Proceeds were in aide of the drug awareness programs, Seniors Awareness and Women‘s Anti violence initiatives. The event raised over $3,200. Dr. Jason Noel’s team that took first place.
