MUR­PHY, David - Passed peace­fully away in the pres­ence of his lov­ing fam­ily and friends at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Tues­day, July 13, 2010, David Mur­phy of Car­bon­ear, age 61 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Wil­liam and Mar­garet; step-fa­ther: Wil­liam Kennedy; brother: Bernard; sis­ter-in-law: Pa­tri­cia Mur­phy; spe­cial friend: Ed­ward Saun­ders. Leav­ing to mourn, wife: Donna; three daugh­ters: Mar­garet (Garry) Martell, Hal­i­fax, NS, Lisa (Les) Mur­phy, Ayles­ford, NS and Amanda ( Lyndon) Pike, Car­bon­ear; six grand­chil­dren: Colton, Spencer, Kait­lyn, Jor­dan, Brit­tany and Dylan; two broth­ers: Wil­liam Mur­phy, Car­bon­ear and Ger­ard ( Shirley) Mur­phy, Salmon Cove; one sis­ter: Glo­ria Kennedy, St. John’s; as well as his spe­cial friends of Bill W.; also a large num­ber of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Fu­neral Mass took place on Thurs­day, July 15 at 10: 30 a. m. from St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Car­bon­ear fol­lowed by In­ter­ment in St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. As an ex­pres­sion of sym­pa­thy, flow­ers grate­fully ac­cepted or do­na­tions in his me­mory may be made to the David Mur­phy Me­mo­rial Fund.

BAR­RETT, Wil­liam Thomas-Passed peace­fully away en­route to Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Sun­day, July 11, 2010, Wil­liam Thomas Bar­rett of Spa­niard’s Bay aged 88 years. Pre­de­ceased by sis­ters; Janet, Joyce, and Emily, Broth­ers; Isaac and Isaac Ed­ward. Left with fond and lov­ing mem­o­ries, his wife Jac­que­line Alice Bar­rett (Com­pagnon) of 60 years; daugh­ter Linda ( Art); sons Bill ( Shirley), Jack (Christina), and Robert; Seven grand­chil­dren and three great grand­chil­dren; Sis­ters; Ly­dia Gosse (On­tario) and Jean Froude (On­tario); Brother Wal­ter (Grand Falls), and a large cir­cle of fam­ily and friends. Rested at Young’s Fu­neral Home, Spa­niard’s Bay, fu­neral ser­vice took place on Wed­nes­day, July 14, 2010 at the Angli­can Church with in­ter­ment at United Ceme­tery Spa­niard’s Bay. The fam­ily wishes to ex­press their sin­cere ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the staff of Colling­wood Downs of Clarke’s Beach who pro­vided stel­lar care and sup­port for Wil­liam Bar­rett in his fi­nal months. COLLINS, Ger­ard-Passed peace­fully away at his res­i­dence, Har­bour Grace on Satur­day, July 10, 2010, Ger­ard Collins, age 53 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Bernard and Eleanor. Left to mourn: two broth­ers: Ai­den ( Paulette), Car­bon­ear, and Paul ( Deb­bie), Har­bour Grace; four sis­ters: Ber­nice (Don­ald) Dawe, Cather­ine (Den­nis) King, and Dei­dre ( Wade) Hynes, all of Hal­i­fax, N. S. and Paulette ( Bill) Pil­grim, Goose Bay; nieces: Cindy, Tif­fany, Krista, Alyson, Jen­nifer, Sarah and Mary; neph­ews: Christo­pher, Bernie, Ian, Neal and Liam; care­givers: Paulette and Max­ine; very spe­cial friends: Clif­ford Kennedy and Shirley Barnes; also a large num­ber of other relatives and friends.
