A snapshot of several investigations over the week
From July 26 to Aug. 2, Trinity Conception District RCMP responded to 133 complaints and calls to service from the citizens in our district. Our routine everyday traffic enforcement duties are not included in that total. The following is a snapshot of several investigations over the last week that highlight the nature of some calls we received and identifies incidents that the public can possibly help us with by providing information.
Received a report of a theft of money in Bay Roberts. As a result of the complaint, a 23-year-old male from Bay Roberts was arrested, charged and held in custody. Charges consist of theft and breach of a recognizance. Court date is set for Aug. 16.
Received a report of a possible impaired driver in the Carbonear area. Patrols of the area were conducted and as a result, a 55-year-old female from Job’s Cove was arrested and charged. Charges include operating while impaired and operating a motor vehicle over the .08 legal limit. First appearance date set for Sept. 20.
Received a call of a single vehicle collision near the community of North River. After a brief investigation, members arrested and charged the 20-year-old driver. The male driver is currently facing charges of operating while impaired and operating a motor vehicle over the .08 legal limit. First appearance date set for Sept. 20.
Conducted a routine traffic stop in the community of Harbour Grace. A a result of the stop, a 21year-old male from Harbour Grace was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance. The 21-year-old male is to appear at the Harbour Grace provincial court on Oct. 4.
Received a call of a disturbance at West Sides Charlie’s in Carbonear. When members arrived, they arrested and charged a 24-year-old male from Burnt Point for possession of a controlled substance and breach of an recognizance as well as a 22-year-old male from Harbour Grace for breaching a court order. The 22-and 24-year-old males are to appear at the Harbour Grace court on Aug. 16.
Received a complainant of a stolen vehicle in Harbour Grace. A 17-year-old young offender was arrested and charged for the theft. The young person is to appear in St. John’s provincial youth court later in August.
