A snap­shot of sev­eral in­ves­ti­ga­tions over the week

From July 26 to Aug. 2, Trin­ity Con­cep­tion District RCMP re­sponded to 133 com­plaints and calls to ser­vice from the cit­i­zens in our district. Our rou­tine ev­ery­day traf­fic en­force­ment du­ties are not in­cluded in that to­tal. The fol­low­ing is a snap­shot of sev­eral in­ves­ti­ga­tions over the last week that high­light the na­ture of some calls we re­ceived and iden­ti­fies in­ci­dents that the pub­lic can pos­si­bly help us with by pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion.

July 29

Re­ceived a re­port of a theft of money in Bay Roberts. As a re­sult of the com­plaint, a 23-year-old male from Bay Roberts was ar­rested, charged and held in cus­tody. Charges con­sist of theft and breach of a re­cog­ni­zance. Court date is set for Aug. 16.

July 30

Re­ceived a re­port of a pos­si­ble im­paired driver in the Car­bon­ear area. Pa­trols of the area were con­ducted and as a re­sult, a 55-year-old fe­male from Job’s Cove was ar­rested and charged. Charges in­clude op­er­at­ing while im­paired and op­er­at­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle over the .08 le­gal limit. First ap­pear­ance date set for Sept. 20.

Re­ceived a call of a sin­gle ve­hi­cle col­li­sion near the com­mu­nity of North River. Af­ter a brief in­ves­ti­ga­tion, mem­bers ar­rested and charged the 20-year-old driver. The male driver is cur­rently fac­ing charges of op­er­at­ing while im­paired and op­er­at­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle over the .08 le­gal limit. First ap­pear­ance date set for Sept. 20.

July 31

Con­ducted a rou­tine traf­fic stop in the com­mu­nity of Har­bour Grace. A a re­sult of the stop, a 21year-old male from Har­bour Grace was ar­rested and charged for pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance. The 21-year-old male is to ap­pear at the Har­bour Grace pro­vin­cial court on Oct. 4.

Re­ceived a call of a dis­tur­bance at West Sides Char­lie’s in Car­bon­ear. When mem­bers ar­rived, they ar­rested and charged a 24-year-old male from Burnt Point for pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and breach of an re­cog­ni­zance as well as a 22-year-old male from Har­bour Grace for breach­ing a court or­der. The 22-and 24-year-old males are to ap­pear at the Har­bour Grace court on Aug. 16.

Aug. 1

Re­ceived a com­plainant of a stolen ve­hi­cle in Har­bour Grace. A 17-year-old young of­fender was ar­rested and charged for the theft. The young per­son is to ap­pear in St. John’s pro­vin­cial youth court later in Au­gust.
