RCMP conduct ATV patrol
In the wake of an apparent increase in illegal all-terrain vehicle operation on roadways, the Trinity Conception District RCMP conducted a concentrated patrol on Sept. 4.
The patrol extended from Marysvale to Bay de Verde.
Several charges were laid, ranging from operating an ATV on a roadway to allowing a person under 16 years-of-age to operate an ATV.
Police reported that several vehicles checked were being operated in accordance with the rules and regulations provided in the Motorized Snow Vehicles and All-Terrain Vehicles Act.
Similar patrols will be conducted in the near future, say police.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the RCMP to reduce the number of ATV accidents and infractions and keeping communities safe.
