Veterans to stage protest Nov. 6

The Compass - - OPINION -

Dear editor,

Canadian veterans are having a hard time getting by with the red tape and lack of support that we are getting from Veterans Affairs and the Canadian government.

Please post this letter in your Letters to the Editor as soon as possible in order to start awareness in your region of what will transpire on Nov. 6.

While our young soldiers remain embattled with the Taliban in Afghanistan, our veterans are trying to get by and support our troops, but it is getting difficult to stand by and watch as their own support wanes.

The Military Veterans of Canada have decided to ask Canadians and our Members of Parliament to help us with our quality of life by making changes to the New Veterans Charter and other policies that have caused much dismay in our lives.

On Nov. 6 at 11 a.m., your veterans will be taking their point of views to their MP’s offices across Canada to gain support from them and other Canadians who feel they are being left to their own devices.

Our veterans deserve better treatment.

Just as we do on Remembrance Day each year, please be a proud Canadian on Nov. 6 and show your support by attending the Canadian Veterans National Day Of Protest. March alongside our veterans to show our government that YOU CARE for those who serve, have served, and who have fought for this country.

Please Canada, support our troops, past and present. Robin Brentnall
