Po­sei­don loses eight bod­ies lead­ing up to new sea­son

The Po­sei­don swim club is ready for an­other year, though the com­pet­i­tive team could use a few more bod­ies to help fill lanes at the Car­bon­ear Swim­ming Pool.

Head coach Ju­nior Somers, en­ter­ing his fifth year coach­ing the club, says Po­sei­don’s com­pet­i­tive team – com­posed of the sil­ver and gold squads – lost eight mem­bers from last sea­son’s group.

“The num­bers are down com­pared to the last cou­ple of years, be­cause we lost eight com­pet­i­tive swim­mers this year,” said the coach.

“ But, there’s some from the pre­c­om­pet­i­tive swim­mers that are mov­ing over to com­pet­i­tive, so that kind of evens out things at the end of the day.”
