Poseidon loses eight bodies leading up to new season
The Poseidon swim club is ready for another year, though the competitive team could use a few more bodies to help fill lanes at the Carbonear Swimming Pool.
Head coach Junior Somers, entering his fifth year coaching the club, says Poseidon’s competitive team – composed of the silver and gold squads – lost eight members from last season’s group.
“The numbers are down compared to the last couple of years, because we lost eight competitive swimmers this year,” said the coach.
“ But, there’s some from the precompetitive swimmers that are moving over to competitive, so that kind of evens out things at the end of the day.”
