The team won the Monc­to­nian, and was a run­ner-up to St. John’s in the pro­vin­cial cham­pi­onships, los­ing in seven games. Was a mem­ber of the As­cen­sion Astros team that won the AAAA pro­vin­cial cham­pi­onship in 1999, and played in the 1999 Canada Win­ter Games. • Played with the Strathroy Rock­ets of the On­tario Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion’s ju­nior B league in 19992000, and was se­lected by the Bar­rie Colts (16th round, 325th over­all) of the On­tario Hockey League in the 2000 draft. Af­ter 15 games with the Colts, was traded to the Cape Bre­ton Scream­ing Ea­gles of the Que­bec Ma­jor Ju­nior Hockey League, where he had one goal and four points in 39 games in the 2000-01 sea­son. • Spent the 2001-02 sea­son with the Con­cep­tion Bay North Ju­nior Stars, and played in the all-star game. • Was a first-team all-star with the Yarmouth Mariners of the Mar­itime Ju­nior A Hockey League in 2002-03, and fin­ished in the top10 in points with 43 points in 37 games. • Played the 2003-04 sea­son with the Mil­ton Ice­hawks of the On­tario pro­vin­cial ju­nior A hockey league, where he was named a first-top all-star and top defenceman. He scored his 21st goal that sea­son on his 21st birth­day ( Jan. 24), and also wore jersey No. 21. Ac­cord­ing to hock­eydb.com, French had 39 points, in­clud­ing 19 goals, in 39 reg­u­lar sea­son games. • Is now in his sev­enth sea­son with the Con­cep­tion Bay North CeeBee Stars of the Avalon East Se­nior Hockey League, and has six league and three Herder Me­mo­rial Tro­phy cham­pi­onships to his credit.
