After 15 games with the Colts, was traded to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he had one goal and four points in 39 games in the 2000-01 season. • Spent the 2001-02 season with the Conception Bay North Junior Stars, and played in the all-star game. • Was a first-team all-star with the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League in 2002-03, and finished in the top10 in points with 43 points in 37 games. • Played the 2003-04 season with the Milton Icehawks of the Ontario provincial junior A hockey league, where he was named a first-top all-star and top defenceman. He scored his 21st goal that season on his 21st birthday ( Jan. 24), and also wore jersey No. 21.
