Be it therefore resolved...

The Compass - - SPORTS - STORY AND PHOTOS BY BURTON K. JANES

An unknown author said, “A New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.” On a more positive note, Benjamin Franklin said, “Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbours, and let each year find you a better man.” The start of a new year is a fitting time to resolve to better oneself. It’s instructive to note that in the interviews conducted for this piece, several individuals stressed the importance of health and fitness. Whatever your resolutions are for 2011, we wish you well. May your personal resolve be richly rewarded by year’s end. Name: Linda Roberts Hometown: Clarke’s Beach Resolution: Throughout 2010, I came to realize there are many people who are suffering financially, mentally or physically. My New Year’s resolution is to be more observant of the needs of those people around me and assist them in any way possible.
