KENNEDY, Flora K. — Passed peace­fully away at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Fri­day, Jan­uary 7, 2011, Flora K. Kennedy of Car­bon­ear, age 73 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Alexan­der and Chris­tine Ho­gan; brother: John ‘ Jack’ Ho­gan; par­ents-in-law: Da­gle­ton and El­iz­a­beth Kennedy; spe­cial friend: James ‘ Jim’ Hunt. Left to mourn, hus­band: Pa­trick; six daugh­ters: Sharon ( Steve) Leonard, On­tario, Diane Kennedy ( Noel) and Carolyn (Gerry) Ryan, both of Car­bon­ear, Joanne ( Stephen) Walsh, St. John’s, Judy (Gary) Hoyles, Car­bon­ear and Denise ( John) Shep­pard, Con­cep­tion Bay South; three sons: Jerome (Rachel), St. John’s, Paul (Ann Marie), Har­bour Grace and David (Cindy), Car­bon­ear; 16 grand­chil­dren; one sis­ter: Brid­get (Bern) Craw­ford, Car­bon­ear; sis­ter-in-law: Han­nah Thomey, St. John’s; also a large num­ber of other relatives and friends. Mon­signor E. T. Brom­ley and Fr. F. J. Ayl­ward con­ducted the Fu­neral Mass on Mon­day, Jan­uary 10 at St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Car­bon­ear. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Thomas and Phoebe; grand­chil­dren: Sarah and Zachary; broth­ers: Herb, James, Jack, Fred, Hughie and Tom; sis­ter: Lil­lian Pen­ney. Left to mourn, wife: Ruby; two daugh­ters: Cavell (Charles) Brun, Pointe Dixon, NB and Jean­nie (Billy) Isaac, Bur­tonsville, Mary­land; one son: Vin­cent (Pamela), Perry’s Cove; four grand­chil­dren: Bar­baraJean (Mur­ray) An­der­son, Megan Isaac (Billy) Mur­phy, Amanda Isaac and Kayla Rose (Kevin Soo­ley); three great-grand­chil­dren: Thomas, Char­l­ize, and Lil­ianna An­der­son; two broth­ers: Aubrey (Eileen) and Vin­cent (Genevieve), both of Vic­to­ria; two sis­ters: Mil­dred Kel­loway, Pen­te­costal Se­nior’s Home, Clarke’s Beach and Nat­tie (Steve) Nolan, St. Mary’s; sis­tersin-law: Helen Rose, Vic­to­ria, El­iz­a­beth Rose, Gan­der, Eileen Lan­na­han, Par­adise and An­nie Rose, Vic­to­ria; also a large num­ber of other relatives and friends. Cap­tains Wel­don and Donna Hay­ward con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice on Tues­day, Jan­uary 11 at the Sal­va­tion Army Ci­tadel, Lower Is­land Cove.
