The Compass - - SPORTS -

For the second time in a week, a business in the Carbonear-Harbour Grace area has been robbed.

Police received a call on Friday, Jan. 21 at about 4: 30 p. m. that the Ready Cash Store at 46 A Powell Drive Carbonear had been robbed.

The incident follows a similar robbery at the Irving gas bar in Riverhead, Harbour Grace that occurred on Monday, Jan. 17.

In the latest incident, police say a male suspect entered the business and demanded money from the employee. Before fleeing from the store, the suspect obtained an undisclosed quantity of cash.

It is also believed that a small dark four-door vehicle was involved in the robbery.

The male suspect was wearing a black hooded sweater with a white symbol across the front, his face was partially concealed, and is described as approximately five-foot-eight inches tall, medium build with noticeable lines under his eyes.

He was also wearing jeans and black leather gloves.

The Trinity Conception RCMP is seeking the assistance of the general public.

Anyone that can identify the person responsible or anyone that may have any information is asked to contact the Trinity Conception RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-TIPS ( 8477).
