Em­ber­ley, Mrs. El­iza (nee Har­ring­ton) — It is with deep sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of El­iza. Mrs. Em­ber­ley passed away on Fe­bru­ary 6, 2011, at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal. Mrs. Em­ber­ley was in her 84th year. Pre­de­ceased by Hus­band: Kevin Em­ber­ley (2008); Par­ents: Ni­cholas & Ellen Har­ring­ton; Sis­ters: Josephine Barnes (Ed­ward), Frances & Marie Brother: Mau­rice Har­ring­ton; sis­ter-in-law of: Peter Em­ber­ley, Tom Em­ber­ley (Beu­lah), Florence Pre­ston (Cor­bett) & Pat Em­ber­ley; Cousins: Paddy, Tom and Wil­lie Mc­Carthy. Leav­ing to mourn nieces & nephew: Mar­garet Barnes, Jeanie Laforge (Tim), Ed­ward Barnes (Uni), Mar­ion Goudie (Ken) & Eileen Bit­tles (Rob); Sis­ter-in-law to: Max Em­ber­ley (Alice) & Mar­garet Car­roll (Cyril); Nieces & neph­ews: Janet Pre­ston, Bon­nie Pre­ston (Gary Dens­more) and Linda Ruskell (Tim), Michael Em­ber­ley (Dar­lene), Paul Em­ber­ley (Paula), James Em­ber­ley (Deanne), Dianne Fitzger­ald, Mar­i­lyn Cull ( Jim), Cather­ine Evans (Ed), Su­san Em­ber­ley, Joe Car­roll (Colleen), Terry Car­roll ( Dela), Tom Car­roll (Marieke), Anne Marie Car­roll (An­dres Bas­ante), Anita Car­roll (Basaam Eid), Linda, Sharon & Deb­bie Em­ber­ley; Cousins: Dru­cella Mc­Carthy, Fred Mc­Carthy & Agnes Neville. El­iza was an avid Chicago Black­hawks’ fan and made her day when they won the Stan­ley Cup last year. El­iza loved the out­doors and looked for­ward to her op­por­tu­ni­ties for trout­ing. As ex­pres­sions of sym­pa­thy flow­ers are grate­fully ac­cepted or do­na­tions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foun­da­tion. The fu­neral mass took place on Thurs­day, Feb. 10 from St. Pa­trick’s R.C. Church and ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. The fam­ily re­ceived rel­a­tives and friends at Slade’s Fu­neral Home, Pow­ell Drive, Car­bon­ear.
