PEN­NEY, Mau­reen (nee Har­ring­ton) — Passed peace­fully away at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 28, 2011, Mau­reen Pen­ney (nee Har­ring­ton) of Car­bon­ear, age 79 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Pa­trick and An­nie Har­ring­ton; brother: Jack Har­ring­ton. Left to mourn, hus­band: Don­ald; two daugh­ters: Lynette Bick­ford, Win­nipeg, MB and Deb­bie ( Ray) Mar­shall, St. John’s; five sons: Boyd, Don, Tony, all of Vic­to­ria, Robert ( Sharon), Salmon Cove and Barry ( Mau­reen), St. John’s; eight grand­chil­dren: Christo­pher, An­gelina, Ian, Gary, Barry, Vic­to­ria, Cas­san­dra and Zachary; four brothers: Joe Har­ring­ton, Morris Har­ring­ton, Bill Har­ring­ton and Pa­trick Har­ring­ton; five sis­ters: Nora Collins, El­iz­a­beth Hinks, Mar­cella Har­ring­ton, Mary Paynter and Mar­garet Reid; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. Fu­neral ser­vice took place on Wed­nes­day, March 2 from Noel’s Me­mo­rial Chapel, Car­bon­ear. Cre­ma­tion fol­lowed. In­urn­ment to take place at a later date in St. Pa­trick’s Ro­man Catholic Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear. A Re­cep­tion was held fol­low­ing the ser­vice at Noel’s Fu­neral Home in the Noel’s Gather­ing/So­cial room. Do­na­tions in her mem­ory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Mur­phy Cancer Care Cen­tre.
