PENNEY, Maureen (nee Harrington) — Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, February 28, 2011, Maureen Penney (nee Harrington) of Carbonear, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Annie Harrington; brother: Jack Harrington. Left to mourn, husband: Donald; two daughters: Lynette Bickford, Winnipeg, MB and Debbie ( Ray) Marshall, St. John’s; five sons: Boyd, Don, Tony, all of Victoria, Robert ( Sharon), Salmon Cove and Barry ( Maureen), St. John’s; eight grandchildren: Christopher, Angelina, Ian, Gary, Barry, Victoria, Cassandra and Zachary; four brothers: Joe Harrington, Morris Harrington, Bill Harrington and Patrick Harrington; five sisters: Nora Collins, Elizabeth Hinks, Marcella Harrington, Mary Paynter and Margaret Reid; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, March 2 from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Cremation followed. Inurnment to take place at a later date in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear. A Reception was held following the service at Noel’s Funeral Home in the Noel’s Gathering/Social room.
