Clarke’s Beach woman en­ters guity pleas

Lori Ann Mon­a­han has en­tered guilty pleas on 32 of the 62 charges laid against her in a case of al­leged fraud.

Legal aid lawyer Rose­mary Daw­son en­tered the pleas on Mon­a­han’s be­half at Har­bour Grace pro­vin­cial court on March 21. Mon­a­han, 36, did not ap­pear in the court­room.

The Clarke’s Beach woman has pled guilty to 11 counts of ut­ter­ing forged doc­u­ments, eight counts of fraud, five counts of sell­ing or pos­sess­ing coun­ter­feit marks, and eight counts for breach­ing pro­ba­tion.

The Crown agreed to con­di­tion­ally with­draw the re­main­ing 30 charges Mon­a­han was fac­ing. She was ar­rested last Septem­ber for al­legedly cash­ing forged cheques.

Mon­a­han will be sen­tenced on June 6, at which time the agreed state­ment of facts will be read in court. Daw­son has re­quested a pre-sen­tenc­ing re­port.
