Clarke’s Beach woman enters guity pleas
Lori Ann Monahan has entered guilty pleas on 32 of the 62 charges laid against her in a case of alleged fraud.
Legal aid lawyer Rosemary Dawson entered the pleas on Monahan’s behalf at Harbour Grace provincial court on March 21. Monahan, 36, did not appear in the courtroom.
The Clarke’s Beach woman has pled guilty to 11 counts of uttering forged documents, eight counts of fraud, five counts of selling or possessing counterfeit marks, and eight counts for breaching probation.
The Crown agreed to conditionally withdraw the remaining 30 charges Monahan was facing. She was arrested last September for allegedly cashing forged cheques.
Monahan will be sentenced on June 6, at which time the agreed statement of facts will be read in court. Dawson has requested a pre-sentencing report.
