The 2011 Tele­gram Herder Me­mo­rial Cham­pi­onship se­ries be­tween the Con­cep­tion Bay North East­link Cee­Bee Stars and the Grand Falls-Wind­sor Cataracts got un­der­way March 25-26 at Mile One Cen­tre in St. John’s with Games 1 and 2. The Cataracts won both con­tests, and were at­tempt­ing to wrap-up the se­ries this past week­end (re­sults not avail­able be­cause of The Com­pass’ Fri­day dead­line). The Tele­gram’s Joe Gib­bons and The Com­pass’ Andrew Robin­son were on hand to cap­ture some im­ages from the first two games of the best-of­seven se­ries.

The Con­cep­tion Bay North East­link Cee­Bee Stars at­tempt to setup one last play in the dy­ing sec­onds of Game 2 dur­ing a time­out called by the Grand Falls-Wind­sor Cataracts. The Cataracts held on to win the game 5-4.

Ryan De­laney (No. 91) sets up Cee­Bee Stars team­mate Ray Dal­ton for the team’s first goal of the game, which helped even the score for Game 2 at 1-1.
