Soc­cer meet­ing starts Fri­day

The New­found­land and Labrador Soc­cer As­so­ci­a­tion will hold its an­nual spring meet­ing April 15 and 16 at Trav­ellers Inn in St. John’s.

About 50 soc­cer peo­ple from ev­ery area of the prov­ince are ex­pected to at­tend the meet­ing, with dis­cus­sions on all as­pects of 2011 ac­tiv­ity.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from youth soc­cer, se­nior fe­male soc­cer and se­nior male soc­cer will hold dis­cus­sions.

“ The spring meet­ing is ex­tremely im­por­tant,” pro­vin­cial soc­cer pres­i­dent Doug Red­mond of St. John’s stated.

“It is the time for frank dis­cus­sions and fi­nal de­ci­sions on the rules and reg­u­la­tions that will gov­ern our 2011 com­pe­ti­tions. For the most part, sched­ules and lo­ca­tions for games and tour­na­ments will be fi­nal­ized. The meet­ing is a vi­tal time for the del­e­gates to present their opin­ions.”

The Fri­day, April 15 ses­sions start at 6:30 p.m. and the Satur­day, April 16 ses­sions get un­der way at 9:00 a.m.
