Trinity Bay man released on bail

The Compass - - TRINITY SOUTH -

A Trinity Bay man accused of inappropriate sexual behaviour with three children under the age of nine has been released on bail.

The bail hearing took place at provincial court in Harbour Grace on Friday.

The man is due back in court on July 28 to answer to the following charges: three counts of invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault and resisting arrest.

The man cannot be identified because of a court-imposed publication ban meant to protect the identity of his alleged victims.

He was released on the condition that he not interact with anyone under the age of 16, unless he is in the presence of another adult.

Police say the incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, July 6.

The Trinity Conception District RCMP received a complaint that the man had enticed three young males into his residence and “ invited them to sexual touching.”

Police say more charges are likely, and there are indications that other similar incidents may have occurred in the past.
