Cap­i­tal works money for re­gion

Some $ 3.1 mil­lion is to be spent in the Car­bon­ear-Har­bour Grace district on seven mu­nic­i­pal in­fra­struc­ture projects this year.

In the town of Car­bon­ear, the work in­cludes:

• wa­ter and sewer im­prove­ments to Lon­don Road

• wa­ter, storm sewer and road im­prove­ments to Le­marchant Street

• road im­prove­ments to Park Lane, Butt’s Av­enue, Earle’s Lane, Val­leyview Heights and Crowdy Street.

In other parts of the district, the fund­ing will cover road up­grades to Church Hill Road, Spa­niard’s Bay and Church Road, Vic­to­ria.

Car­bon­ear-Har­bour Grace MHA Jerome Kennedy said, in a news re­lease, “along with the fund­ing al­lo­ca­tion for new projects this year, $1.3 mil­lion pre­vi­ously al­lo­cated will be spent to be­gin phase three of Harvey Street up­grades in Har­bour Grace.”
