Man facing drug charges

The Compass - - EDITORIAL OPINION -

A 54-year-old man from Ontario faces a drug charge following a traffic stop near Bay Roberts Friday, July 8.

Following a lengthy drug investigation, members of the Trinity Conception District RCMP stopped a tractor trailer at around 11 p. m. The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was executed, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 10 pounds (some 4.5 kilograms) of marijuana. Const. Shawn Green called it a “significant” drug seizure. The accused was later released from police custody and will face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act when he appears in Harbour Grace provincial court on Oct. 17.
