Lib­eral to se­lect can­di­date in Trin­ity-bay de Verde

Two peo­ple have made their in­ten­tions known that they will seek the nom­i­na­tion for the Lib­eral Party in the District of Trin­ity-Bay de Verde, set­ting the stage for a nom­i­na­tion battle.

At the close of nom­i­na­tions on Thurs­day, July 21, Norm Snel­grove of Old Per­li­can and Barry Snow of Ochre Pit Cove had come for­ward and filed nom­i­na­tion pa­pers.

Both are seek­ing the right to rep­re­sent the party in the Oct. 11 pro­vin­cial gen­eral elec- tion.

Vot­ing will take place on Thurs­day, July 28 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the fol­low­ing lo­ca­tions: com­mu­nity cen­tre, Cavendish; town hall, Win­ter­ton; fire hall, Old Per­li­can; old fire sta­tion, West­ern Bay; and a lo­ca­tion to be an­nounced in Salmon Cove.

All res­i­dents of the Trin­ity-Bay de Verde District who are at least 14 years-of-age are el­i­gi­ble to par­tic­i­pate in the nom­i­na­tion vot­ing process.
