Summer fun in Dildo
Last week, residents and visitors descended on Dildo to celebrate the 31st Dildo Days festival. On July 27, attendees enjoyed a fishing contest, kids activities and an old-fashioned Newfie mug-up, just a small part of the week-long celebrations.
Matis Godo, 8, proudly displays the relic he “excavated” during an archeology game.
Sisters Ciara and Mckenna Stead enjoy some arts and crafts.
Three-year-old Lucas Hollett proudly displays the codfish he caught off Dildo wharf. Not to be outdone by her brother, Lauren Hollett, 5, holds up her own entry into the fishing contest.
Shelby Smith, 9, and Hope Harnum, 8, enjoy a quiet bite to eat outside the interpretation centre.
Patricia “ Tish” Elford teaches an enthusiastic group about history and archeology on Dildo Island.
Bracey Higdon plays a round of “pin the antlers on the moose.”
