AL­LAN “KENT” SPURRELL: Passed away Au­gust 11, 2011 at the Car­bon­ear Hos­pi­tal, Al­lan “Kent” Spurrell. Born March 6, 1963. Leav­ing to mourn with happy mem­o­ries and heavy hearts, his par­ents Rol­lie and Peggy of Car­bon­ear, Daugh­ter Holly and her mother Bon­nie Spurrell, Sis­ter Laura Downey (chil­dren Jessica and Adam (wife Krista) and beau­ti­ful niece Rachel Ella), Brother Jeff (Claudette) and niece Jodie and Nephew Evan. Aunt Frances Chay­tor (nee White) Aunt Au­drey Spurrell (nee Dawe), Aunt Olive Hil­lerich (nee Spurrell) and ex­tended fam­ily and friends. Cre­ma­tion has taken place. Any­one wish­ing to hon­our his life may do­nate to the Mul­ti­ple Sclero­sis So­ci­ety of Canada, At­lantic Divi­sion on his be­half.

RAY­MOND CLARKE: Passed sud­denly away at work on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 10, 2011, Ray­mond Clarke of Car­bon­ear, age 59 years. Pre­de­ceased by par­ents: Fran­cis and Irene; brother: Bill. Left to mourn, one daugh­ter: Me­lanie, Clarke’s Beach; one son: Lee, Al­berta; one grand­daugh­ter: Han­nah; three brothers: Ralph, Car­bon­ear, Wal­lace ( Jan­ice), Labrador City and Tom (Lois), Car­bon­ear; four sis­ters: Peggy (Don) Sharpe, On­tario, Rose (Charles) Hef­ford, Con­cep­tion Bay South, Rita (Don) Sel­lars, Whit­bourne and Betty Clarke, Car­bon­ear; also a large num­ber of other rel­a­tives and friends. Rested at Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Rev. Mr. Clarence Cole con­ducted the fu­neral ser­vice on Satur­day, Au­gust 13 the United Church, Fresh­wa­ter, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in the United Ceme­tery, Fresh­wa­ter, Car­bon­ear. Do­na­tions in his mem­ory may be made to the United Church Ceme­tery Fund, Fresh­wa­ter. CLARENCE RAY­MOND PRICE: 1943-2011 - It is with sor­row that the fam­ily an­nounces his pass­ing on Mon­day, Au­gust 8, 2011 at the Car­bon­ear Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal. Son of Gil­bert and Alma Price ( both pre­de­ceased) of Hants Har­bour, Trin­ity Bay, NL. Clarence was loved by three sis­ters Effie of Hants Har­bour, NL (pre­de­ceased), Doris of Vic­to­ria, NL and Mar­garet of Par­adise, NL. He leaves be­hind his beloved wife of 44 years, Louise, with whom he shared a pas­sion for fam­ily, trav­el­ling and the great out­doors. He also leaves be­hind his beloved chil­dren, Traci (Kyle Len­nie) of Fred­er­ic­ton, NB and Trudy (Shawn Ram­stead) and grand­sons Devin and Drake of Stock­ton, Cal­i­for­nia. He will be sadly missed by many spe­cial neph­ews, nieces and rel­a­tives, as well as many close, life-time friends.

Through­out his ca­reer, he worked for sev­eral com­pa­nies, most no­tably, Gor­don But­ler Lim­ited (St. John’s) for 32 years and then Nabisco Canada un­til he re­tired in 2004. Through­out his life, Clarence held a pas­sion for peo­ple, cur­rent events and the bet­ter­ment of his com­mu­nity. He de­voted many char­i­ta­ble hours to the Mi­nor Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion (as a coach), the Car­bon­ear Re­cre­ation Com­mis­sion and the Car­bon­ear Lions Club. He also will be re­mem­bered for his great love of an­i­mals and as an avid out­door sports­man. Clarence’s well lived life was re­mem­bered at his visi­ta­tion from Noel’s Fu­neral Home, Wa­ter Street, Car­bon­ear. Rev. Shirley Nose­wor­thy con­ducted the fu­neral Ser­vice to cel­e­brate his life on Fri­day from Noel’s Me­mo­rial Chapel, Car­bon­ear. In­ter­ment took place in the In­ter­faith Ceme­tery, Car­bon­ear.
