Lo­cal play­ers make provin­cial teams

Eleven young hockey hope­fuls from the Trin­i­tyCon­cep­tion re­gion will be rep­re­sent­ing New­found­land and Labrador at the 2011 At­lantic Chal­lenge Cup.

The tour­na­ment, which runs Oct. 7-10 in Monc­ton, New Brunswick at the Red Bull In­ter­net Cen­tre, also fea­tures teams from host prov­ince, Nova Sco­tia and Prince Ed­ward Is­land.

The tour­na­ment is bro­ken down into five di­vi­sions: un­der-15 fe­male, un­der-17 fe­male, un­der-14 male, un­der-15 male and un­der-16 male.

Rep­re­sent­ing the prov­ince with the un­der-15 fe­male team will be Alyssa Laing from Car­bon­ear, Emily Bai­ley from Trinity Bay, Karissa Brad­bury from Whit­bourne and Kelsey Shute from Har­bour Grace.

Mak­ing the un­der-17 fe­male team were Chelsee Brad­bury from Bay Roberts, Noelle Rus­sell from Blake­town, Ali­cia Gil­lam from Whit­bourne and Natalie Keep­ing from Bay Roberts.

Rep­re­sent­ing the re­gion on the boys side for the un­der-14 male team are Lu­cas March from Green’s Har­bour, Joel Pet­ten from Co­ley’s Point and Lyn­don Thorne from Blake­town.

There were no play­ers from the re­gion se­lected for ei­ther the un­der-15 or un­der-17 male teams.
