Baccalieu runner wins silver at provincials Senior high (female)
Brandon Harris of Baccalieu Collegiate in Old Perlican was the only runner from the Trinity-conception region to claim a medal at the provincial School Sports NL cross- country championships in Carbonear on Oct. 29.
Harris took silver in the junior boys’ division, finishing less than a second behind Jesse Byrne of Stephenville High.
Harris finished in a time of 10 minutes, 4.2 seconds.
Some 38 runners took part in the race, with Baccalieu finishing fourth in the seven-school team competition.
In all, some 180 runners from across the province participated in four divisions — junior high boys and girls, and senior high boys and girls.
