Results from Bay Roberts 50-plus bowling league
Nov. 10 Eric Mercer took top spot in the men’s high single of the Bay Roberts 50- plus Bowling League after bowling a score of 205.
Gerald Bradbury bowled a 198 to take the second spot, while Wilf Spurrell bowled a 190 to round out the top three.
On the women’s side, Kay Follett bowled a 194 to finish on top.
Verna Bowering came in second with a 192, while Mary Tucker bowled a 187, good for third.
In the men’s high triple scoring, Gerald Bradbury claimed top spot with a 570.
Wilf Spurrell and Lloyd Rossiter finished second and third with scores of 492 and 474.
Kay Follett completed a sweep on the ladies’ side when she bowled a 529 to take the high position in the ladies’ high triple.
Verna Bowering came second with a 492 and Mary Tucker was third after finishing with a score of 477.
Don’s Miracles and the Strange Bunch finished atop to team standings with 15 points a piece. Nov. 18 Gerald Bradbury stood at the top of the men’s high single with a score of 195, narrowly edging Don Snow, who bowled a 194 and finished in second place.
Lloyd Rossiter finished in the top three with a 180.
Kay Follett scored a 180, enough to finish as the top seed on the women’s bracket.
Verna Bowering came second with a 177 and Beatrice Bradbury bowled a 172 to finish third.
In the men’s high triple, Gerald Bradbury took top spot for the second week in a row with a 529.
Lloyd Rossiter finished second after bowling a 484, and Don Snow came in third with a score of 480.
Kay Follett bowled a 486 to nab first place in the ladies’ high triple, while Verna Bowering, 452, and Mary Tucker, 419, rounded out the top three.
The Strange Bunch were the leaders in team standings after accumulating 18 points.
Don Miracles, falling from the top spot, narrowly missed out on a tie for top spot with 17 points.
