Police make arrests following break-in
Police have arrested three people — two males and a female — in connection with a residential break-in on Country Road in Bay Roberts.
The break-in occurred sometime between 7 p. m. on Dec. 3 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 4.
A quantity of cash and other items were taken from the home.
Investigators with Trinity Conception District RCMP got a break in the case later in the day after one of the accused, a 20year- old female from Upper Island Cove, allegedly used a credit card taken during the break-in at a convenience store in Harbour Grace.
The business reported the stolen credit card, and the female was identified through the use of surveillance cameras at the store. She was arrested at about 3 p.m. on Dec. 4, and the two males — a 25- year- old from Upper Island Cove and a 19-year-old from Bay Roberts — were arrested later in the day.
The female and one male were released from custody with a court date set for early in the new year. One of the males will remain in police custody for a Dec. 19 court appearance in Harbour Grace.
Police were able to locate much of the stolen property.
