Po­lice seize nar­cotics, cash

Of­fi­cers with the Trinity Con­cep­tion District RCMP re­cov­ered a large amount of pre­scrip­tion nar­cotics as a re­sult of a traf­fic stop Dec. 14.

The RCMP ar­rested an adult male dur­ing a stop in the Car­bon­ear area.

Re­cov­ered dur­ing the ar­rest were quan­ti­ties of pre­scrip­tion drugs in­clud­ing Me­ta­dol, Ri­talin, Oxy­codone, Oxy­con­tin, cannabis and hashish.

Along with the nar­cotics, ap­prox­i­mately $500 in cash was also seized.

The male, who is 27 years old, was re­leased with a fu­ture court date and faces charges of traf­fick­ing and pos­s­e­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing un­der the Con­trolled Drug and Sub­stance Act.
