Hopeful times in Spaniard’s Bay

The Compass - - FRONT PAGE -

Members of the town council in Spaniard’s Bay are looking ahead with optimism, and this was reflected in the 2012 municipal operating budget that was adopted earlier this month. Residents will not see any increases in property and water/sewer rates, and the town will retire several loans next year, resulting in monthly savings of many thousands of dollars. Municipal leaders are also expressing unflinching confidence in the proposed Veterans Memorial Business Park, which they say is behind schedule but will help bolster the town’s coffers in the coming years.
