Progressive Conservative candidate Glenn Littlejohn made a little history Oct. 11 when he wrestled the district of Port de Grave away from the Liberals for the first time in a quarter-century.

The former mayor of Bay Roberts won by a margin of more than 1,600 votes over his Liberal opponent, Leanne Hussey.

“We got an opportunity, we made the best of it, and hopefully I can provide the people of Port de Grave the representation they expect and they are used to,” Littlejohn stated.

The PCS won all five districts in the Trinity Conception region, and cruised to a lop-sided victory in the provincial general election, winning 37 of the 48 seats up for grabs.
