The following is a snapshot of several investigations over the last week which highlights the nature of some calls we received and identifies incidents that the public can possibly help us with by providing information.

• Scrape those windows! Hoping the windows will defrost on the way or hoping the snow will blow off is a sure way to cause a collision. Frost reflects glare from the sun and makes it impossible to see. Ensure you scrape the frost and allow your windows to clear before venturing out.

Community policing events

The RCMP will be hosting a hockey game against the Ascension Collegiate high school team on Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts. As part of the Bay Roberts Winter Carnival events at the stadium, RCMP members are looking forward to hosting the event. We are hoping for special guests, fun-filled intermissions, and raising some funds for the Bay Roberts Citizens Crime Prevention Committee. Cost is minimal — only $1 — and a donation of a non-perishable food item for the food bank.

If your community or community group is looking for RCMP involvement in your event you may contact the Trinity Conception offices at Bay Roberts (786-2118) or Harbour Grace (596-5014). You may also contact the community policing officer directly at 589-5635.
